Finance Controlling – McD

For the well-known company McDonanld’s (actually the operator of the franchises in Croatia) we developed two main BI applications:

• Finance Controlling app
• Card Transaction data comparison

For both BI apps the main stakeholder was the CFO-financial department, the goal was to create an automatic data solution that would generate business reports for reporting up the chain of McDonald’s organization.

Some of the business reports in the Finance Controlling app were:

• Rental Margin report
• GA – General Administration report
• Store PL report
• Income Statement
• US (Trial) Balance
• Controlling Report
• additional reports for controls of allocation keys and allocated costs

For the Card processing data comparison which was actually a 3-way card transaction data matching (the volume of transactions, as well as the amount if it):

1. ERP system (NAV BC)
2. POS card processing data
3. bank posted transactions data (2 different banks)

The main goal was to reach 100% (or as close to) matching on the top level, monthly, daily basis. Moreover, quite crucial part as well matching to the most-detail transaction level as this way the client can debug and find errors (either in POS processing, bank posting or their own systems).

I can mention that such a project is really the most representative of the data field as to crunch numbers to try match to 100% rate of transactions.
